Research 1

Completed my Master degree in Department of Coastal and Marine Fisheries from ‘Sylhet Agricultural University, Bangladesh’ by submitting a thesis entitled as “Assessment of Ecosystem Services in The Meghna River Estuary and Their Drivers of Changes”. That’s my first self funded individual research.

That research of mine was then published in the well known “Journal of Sustainability” entitled as “Assessment of Ecosystem Services and Their Drivers of Change Under Human-Dominated Pressure- The Meghna River Estuary of Bangladesh” from MDPI publishing house.

Research 2

I was a research assistant for two years (2017 & 2018) under a govt. project entitled as “Disaster Risk Reduction Through Human Right Approach for Coastal Fishers” covering all the 19 coastal districts of Bangladesh.

Responsibilities

1. Data collection: It was done in 3 steps-
   • Individual interview (Fisherman & other relevant stake holders)
   • Focus group discussion (FGD)
   • Key informant interview (KII)
2. Organizing and conducting knowledge sharing workshops (with fisher communities and key informants).
3. Data compilation and analysis (MS Excel & SPSS)

Research 3

I did my first research in collaboration with a team of 10 fellow researchers of relevant attributes of the study. The research was conducted in between 2015 & 2016 in the dynamic coastal zone (Barisal Division) of Bangladesh. We focused on securing the food security and create an alternative income source through an innovative approach of aquaculture called ‘Aquaponics’.  And we found positive results and remarks.

The research was entitled as “Cost Effective Aquaponics for Food Security and Income of Farming Households in Coastal Bangladesh” and published in the “Egyptian Journal of Aquatic Research” from ELSEVIER publishing house.
